Car Wheels

The wheel itself is an old invention, but car wheels have evolved the technology by being made of sturdy metals and adding rubber tire tread. Car wheels can be made out of steel, an alloy of aluminum, or magnesium, or a mixture of these metals.

The tire is the covering that fits around the wheel, which protects it and enhances vehicle performance by providing a cushion to absorb shock while keeping the wheel close to the ground. There are different kinds of wheels available for different purposes, from those designed specifically for off-road use to those meant for racing.

Additionally, the rim and tire package is the focal point of the car for many people, and is thus essential to defining a car’s style and character. Stemming from this, custom rims and wheels have become very popular. As a result, there exists a market for tires and wheels larger than ever before.
